TALENT & CAREER

The Career Development Programme has been designed to develop students’ skills in relation to the effective management of their career path and to provide continuous updates on the latest tools and trends in the job market, enabling them to become a career leader.

During the Master, a series of Careers Workshops will be held, with industry experts explaining how to design and carefully plan a career strategy, covering a range of topics from personal branding to salary negotiation.

In addition, experts will be on hand for our students; Careers Advisors, assisted by professional headhunters, will provide support in personalised one-2-one Careers Advisory meetings to develop a strategic action plan to achieve each student’s professional goals and, if necessary, to assist with the selection and interview processes.

In order to facilitate the achievement of professional goals or to meet any requalification needs in the current situation, we have extended the Career Development services up to one year after the end of the master, increasing the opportunities of meetings, both one-2 many (such as workshops, workshops and networking events) and one-2-one.

During the two years, 5 Careers Workshops can be chosen from the 12 listed in the catalogue.

The two workshops “Career set: how to define professional goals” and “Professional networking” are compulsory, since they are aimed at setting the managerial paradigms of each student’s career path.

Among the topics addressed in the Careers Workshops are:

  •  Focus on the job market
  • Job search strategy
  • Make it real: how to check your career action plan
  • Salary negotiation
  • Career elevator pitch
  • Enhancing career change

With the support of a team of expert consultants, MIP’s Career Development Center will offer a series of Careers Advisory services to EMBA students:

  • CV assessment
  • Career Check: following a self-assessment, a meeting is suggested for the elaboration of an Action Plan to define the student’s career development strategies
  • Meetings to support specific career goals
  • Mock interviews
  • Interviews and orientation events with headhunters to receive feedback, the sharing of best practices and learn how to build a professional network.

Uniquely in the world, both during and after the EMBA, participants will have at their disposal a tool for the preassessment of their hard, soft and digital skills. This is FLEXA: the revolutionary digital mentor developed by MIP with Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence tools.

The Career Development Center collaborates with many international leading companies in the reference market to provide our students with services and activities for a continuous update on the latest trends in the job market and the business world.

Students will also have the opportunity to participate in networking events including roundtables and career events, relying on MIP Politecnico di Milano and John Cabot University’s networks.

Furthermore, through FLEXA, our students will be able to get in touch with companies and other professionals in the network.

EMBA FOR COMPANIES

The EMBA offers immediate benefits for the companies in which the students work:

INNOVATION

Students are trained to be innovation agents within their companies. The goal is to bring the creative mindset typical of startups to the corporate world as well. In fact, the programmes are designed to drive the growth of managers and leaders who are engines of innovation and transformation, capable of addressing the challenges required by the market.

RETURN ON INVESTMENT

Professional activity becomes an opportunity to put into practice immediately what has been learned in the classroom. In this way, the company can derive concrete benefits from the advancement of its employee, who becomes a promoter of change and innovation.
Furthermore, the company has the possibility of intervening in the definition of the final project work on which the student will work in the last few months of their EMBA. The project involves the collaboration and supervision of a member of the MIP Politecnico di Milano Faculty. In this way, the company can benefit from the project’s output, which has a highly practical and consultative nature.

CUSTOMISED TRAINING

The sponsoring company can make a contribution in relation to the major that the student can undertake, so as to direct the training of its resources towards issues whose development is of great value and represents an operational benefit. In this way, the employee will be able to target their training in accordance with the needs dictated by their position and their path of professional growth.

LEADERSHIP EXPERIENTIAL PATH

This path, which has been further renewed, aims to work on EMBA students’ transversal soft skills, improving their managerial effectiveness and developing the key capabilities that leaders need to successfully undertake their role within the organisation.

ACCESS TO THE POLITECNICO DI MILANO ECOSYSTEM

Exposure to a technological ecosystem such as that of the Politecnico di Milano  ̶  which ranges from Industry 4.0 to the Internet of Things and autonomous driving in vehicles  ̶  can become an added value for managers and entrepreneurs, also in terms of open innovation. This enables the company to achieve a considerable saving on the costs it would normally incur on acquiring managerial skills externally.

ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES
  • Being recognised by a public body  ̶  in this specific case, by the Politecnico di Milano  ̶  the course issues credits. The recognised Masters are, therefore, VAT exempt pursuant to Art. 10 DPR 633/1972. No VAT is therefore applied on the related invoices.
  • A specific schedule of rates is applied, by means of which the cost is distributed based on the duration of the Master; we are, however, happy to take corporate needs into account in this regard.
  • Businesses which participate in Interprofessional Funds, such as Fondimpresa and Fondirigenti, can benefit from opportunities for sponsoring their employees to take an Executive MBA, taking advantage of the funds which have accrued in their Learning Account or by using open tenders. Here, MIP works with all joint multi-sector funds by placing a team of experts at the disposal of companies to draw attention to the various funding opportunities.
  • Companies will be able to obtain special terms in the case of multiple enrolments of their employees on the EMBA course.
  • Companies wishing to sponsor their employees will be offered an extremely flexible and customized payment plan.
