The Evening EMBA at MIP Politecnico di Milano, which has reached its  40th edition, aims to develop skills geared towards management and business innovation, providing the knowledge bases of general management and promoting  the development of the participants’ decision-making capacity, innovation and leadership over the 17 months of the Master programme.

At the end of the Executive MBA a dual degree is attained: The Executive Master of Business Administration Diploma (Executive MBA), issued by the Business School, and the University Master’s Degree, issued by the Politecnico di Milano.

    A full 30% of the content and activities offered by the Executive MBA is designed to develop precisely those key competencies which are needed by leaders in order to succeed in their role.

The Executive MBA at MIP Politecnico di Milano is a fundamental tool for developing participants’ skills and acquiring the knowledge necessary to take on positions of responsibility.
On average, within two years of the conclusion of the EMBA, 80% of our graduates succeed in taking on roles with greater managerial responsibility: of these, 40% hold executive positions.
Two years after the end of the Master, 15% of participants have taken on a position in top management and 20% have roles with international responsibility.

This year, the Evening EMBA has been designed to incorporate the Career Development Programme, a new route aimed at strengthening participants’ skills for the effective and responsible management of their careers.  During the two-year period, the EMBA offers a series of Careers Workshops, Careers Talks and Round Table events, as well as one-2-one Careers Advisory activities.

FORMAT

The Executive MBA evening format is primarily aimed at those who work in the Lombardy area. It offers weekly lessons in the evening (Mondays and Tuesdays from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm) and one full-time Saturday a month (from 9 am to 6 pm), incorporating Smart Learning, which provides multimedia content and ensures continuous interaction between lecturers, professionals and Executive Managers.
Over 50% of the lessons and activities included in our Executive MBA programme can be customised as chosen by the student, and focused on topics of interest for their professional growth.
In addition to the availability of Smart Learning, since 2018 the Evening EMBA has been enhanced by the possibility of following 30% of the lessons via streaming, ensuring a greater customisation of the agenda and an amplification of the educational experience.

The objective of the Executive MBA programme is to lay the foundations of knowledge concerning the most important methodologies, techniques and tools for company management and to encourage the development of participants’ personal learning, innovation and leadership skills.

At the end of the Core Courses, students can customise their Executive MBA study plan through a choice of Electives, specialised, in-depth courses with an international focus.
The Elective Courses focus on themes of advanced business management to respond to EMBA students’ updating needs. They provide the opportunity for specialisation in certain cross-functional, cutting-edge areas such as Industry 4.0, big data, bio marketing and the circular economy.
Elective courses are characterised by a strong experiential dimension: they are based on action learning, which involves alternating theoretical lessons, assignments and project work supported by tutors and other experts. Some courses may be held in English.

Each Elective course is made up of 1 LONG WEEKEND (from Thursday to Saturday) and, to make your Executive MBA more specialised, you can choose from a minimum of 4 up to a maximum of 6 out of the following list of courses:

International Experience

From the choice of Elective courses you can select one of the experiences abroad, made possible by the School’s internationalisation. Among the activities on offer are exchanges at MIP’s Business School partners and 'Doing Business In' in several countries, including China, Mexico and the United States.

Through the "Doing Business In" programme at a Business School abroad, it is possible to take an in-depth look at the socio-economic characteristics of the host country. During the week, face-to-face lectures with the partner university’s faculty members are alternated with company visits and meetings with top international managers, with the aim of understanding the problems of multicultural management.

There is also the opportunity to give your Executive MBA a more international flavour by choosing one or more of our Exchange programmes at European Business Schools in order to meet executives who have faced the internationalisation process and will discuss related critical issues and opportunities.

Through the Leadership Development Programme, our EMBA students will develop their personal leadership skills within an organisation.

At the end of the Executive MBA, with the support of the MIP Faculty, our students will have the opportunity to carry out a Project work linked to the themes of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Working closely with Politecnico di Milano lecturers and researchers, students will have the opportunity to apply the tools and methods learned during the EMBA to tackle issues of interest to companies and to build relationships of great value to their professional careers.
The Project Work will be an opportunity to enjoy and make use of the contacts and the services of the Polihub, the Politecnico di Milano incubator, which has recently been ranked by UBI Global as the 2nd-best incubator in Europe and 5th-best at world level.

TALENT & CAREER

This year, the Evening EMBA incorporates the Career Development Programme, a new path aimed at improving participants’ skills to allow students to acquire managerial capabilities by giving them the ability to manage of their career in an independent and responsible fashion. During the two years, the EMBA offers a series of Careers Workshops, Careers Talks and Round Table events, as well as one-2-one Careers Advisory activities.

During the two years of the Master you can attend 5 Careers Workshops, choosing from the 12 listed in the catalogue. Each workshop is offered once a year and participants can distribute these as they prefer over the two years of the Master.

The two workshops “Career set: how to define professional goals” and “Professional networking” are compulsory, since they are aimed at setting the managerial paradigms of each student’s career path.

Among the themes addressed in the Careers Workshops are:

In collaboration with the Career Development Office (CDO), EMBA  students can avail themselves of various Careers Advisory services:

  • A CV assessment using VMock, a smart career platform that offers a score based on an international benchmark.
  • Career Check: following a self-assessment, a meeting is suggested for the elaboration of an Action Plan to define the student’s career development strategies
  • Meetings in support of specific career objectives
  • Mock interviews
  • Interviews with headhunters and guidance with feedback, the sharing of best practices and learning how to build a professional network.

The Career Development Office collaborates with many leading companies in the international markets concerned and MIP promotes partnerships to provide its students with services and activities for a continuous updating on the latest trends in the labour market and the business world. Thanks to JobTeaser, MIP puts at your disposal a Digital Careers Platform where students can share their professional profile and companies can post open positions and promote their presentations and recruiting events.

The benefits of practice

Being a professional in the workplace, students have the opportunity to put into practice immediately what they have learned during lectures. In this way, the company can derive concrete benefits from the advancement of its employee, as he or she becomes a promoter of change and innovation.
Furthermore, the company has the possibility of intervening in the definition of the final project work on which the student will work in the last few months of their EMBA. The project provides for the collaboration and supervision of a MIP Faculty member, a Politecnico di Milano professor or an outside consultant. In this way, the company can benefit from the output of the project, which is in essence strongly practical and consultancy-based; it also activates the know-how of the various Politecnico di Milano departments.

The company has the possibility of formulating the specialist Elective courses: in this way, it can direct the training of each employee in accordance with the needs dictated by the participant’s position and their path of professional growth.

Exposure to a technological ecosystem such as that of the Politecnico di Milano, which ranges from industry 4.0 to the internet of things and self-driving vehicles, can provide added value for managers and entrepreneurs, also in terms of open innovation.
This enables the company to achieve considerable cost savings against that which it would normally spend on acquiring managerial skills externally.

Financial opportunities
  • The course is accredited, i.e. recognised by a public body - in this specific case by the Politecnico di Milano. The recognised Masters are, therefore, exempted from VAT pursuant to art. 10 DPR 633/1972. Therefore, no VAT rate is applied on the related invoices.
  • A specific schedule of rates is applied, by means of which the cost is distributed based on the duration of the Master; we are, however, happy to take into account the needs of the company in this regard.
  • Businesses which participate in Interprofessional Funds, such as Fondimpresa and Fondirigenti, can benefit from opportunities for sponsoring their employees to take an Executive MBA, taking advantage of the funds which have accrued in their Learning Account or by using open tenders. Here, MIP works with all joint multi-sector funds by placing a team of experts at the disposal of companies to draw attention to the various funding opportunities. 

ADMISSIONS

The selection process for the Executive MBA Master programmes is always open: in order to apply, simply complete and send in the online admissions application, including the requested documentation.

Participants on the Evening EMBA course are a diverse group in terms of studies, work experience, sector of origin and corporate role: this allow the professionals to experience a stimulating environment and to establish interesting new work-related and social relationships.

Participation in the Executive MBA at MIP Politecnico di Milano is subject to a careful selection process. One of the strengths of this Master programme is the variety of backgrounds of the participants and therefore, considerable weight is given to the candidates’ professional employment history. We recommend that you have a good knowledge of the English language (some lessons are in English, as is part of the educational material, and seminars are also held by foreign managers and professionals).

Admission to the Master may take place only after getting through a rigorous selection process, which closely evaluates the documentation sent, the student’s professional profile, the written test and the motivational interview. The outcome of the selection process, which is based on the allocation of a score for each of these elements, may be positive or negative.

  • Copy of proof of payment of the €150 application fee (this amount can be paid online using the online application form or via bank transfer).

FEES & BENEFITS

The cost for each year of the Master is €15,000 for individual entries and €17,000 for investments incurred by companies or self-employed professionals. These costs are exempt of VAT. Payment will take place annually and the 1st year’s portion is subdivided into three instalments.

MIP, in association with Banca Sella and BPER, has entered into an agreement to disburse financing with advantageous conditions to Italian graduate students and also those not in possession of a degree.

In the case of participation in events with Challenges, MIP contributions will be allocated.

MIP4WOMEN
The MIP FOR WOMEN project is a programme that aims to develop the female management culture.
Within the scope of the Executive MBA programmes, a contribution for a maximum value of Euro 6,000 is provided for, intended for candidates aspiring to a managerial position.
To apply for this award, the admissions application must be presented by attaching a letter of motivation to the documentation provided for the standard selection process.
The MIP4Women contribution is assigned at the end of the selection process, based on merit.
