Abstract:
This seminar focuses on the opportunities related to the use of new disruptive technologies in the domains of PLM and Supply chains. It also highlights some of the current requirements in terms of technology standards and high level design principles to ensure the interoperability with the current existing platforms. SupplyLedger, a project aiming at establishing the technical requirements and the implementation of a proof of concept blockchains system will be taken as an example. The aim of this project is to improve the products quality and raise the transparency of the transactions in the supply chain.

Aziz Bouras is Professor at the College of Engineering of Qatar University, on a stay leave from the University of Lyon, France.
He is currently leading a research team on Software Engineering, dealing with developments related to Cyber-Physical Systems and PLM. He currently manages several IT research projects, including Deep Learning and Blockchain based ones for industrial and societal applications.
Prof. Bouras was holding the ICT Ministry Chair Professor position for 3 years, dealing with the incubation and acceleration of technology start-ups. He is currently the Manager of Qatar university PreAward Department (Office of Research Support), under the Vice-Presidency of Research and Graduate Studies, where he manages the IRCC International Research Collaboration Co-Funds.
