It is an important recognition for the School within the academic research landscape. Four faculty members from the School rank among the top 20 scholars nationally in the field of management in the Best Business and Management Scientists in Italy 2026 ranking published by Research.com

Massimo Colombo (3rd place), Federico Frattini (13th place), Vittorio Chiesa (17th place) and Federico Caniato (18th place) are key figures in this result, which attests to the quality, continuity and impact of the School’s research.
The ranking is based on the D-index (Discipline H-index), a metric that measures scientific impact by considering only publications and citations within the Business and Management field. The data comes from globally recognised platforms such as OpenAlex and CrossRef, which are among the most authoritative and comprehensive sources for analysing scientific output.
For the 2026 edition, over 177.000 researcher profiles were examined globally, with only those demonstrating particularly significant scientific output being selected. In this highly competitive context, the inclusion of four POLIMI School of Management faculty members among the top 20 in Italy is a significant achievement.
Their inclusion in the Research.com ranking recognises their status as leading scholars in their respective fields of research, both nationally and internationally. This achievement also confirms the POLIMI School of Management as a centre of excellence in management research, capable of making a significant contribution to knowledge on key topics such as innovation, strategy and production systems management. This has a tangible impact on the scientific community, businesses and institutions.
