The fourth edition of SOMe eMagazine, is now online

19 December 2025

The fourth issue of SOMe is now available. It showcases the School’s latest research, projects and events, highlighting its contributions to the global discourse on innovation, sustainability, and the evolution of economic and industrial systems.

This edition explores how platformisation is changing the management of complex industrial systems, the centrality of digital and green skills to the future of work in Europe, and how the energy transition can be better understood by integrating economic, political and behavioural perspectives. The research contributions examine the role of behaviour in the adoption of low-carbon technologies, for example, and the effect that workplace design has on the organisation of academic activity.

A substantial portion of the publication is dedicated to the scientific endeavours of the institution, encompassing two significant international events hosted by the Politecnico di Milano. ETSG 2025, which sets the standard for research on international trade, and Logistics Management 2025 (LM25), which comprises three days of discussions on logistics, management and innovation.

The issue also presents significant European research projects, including aerOS, which focuses on orchestrating AI solutions across the IoT–edge–cloud continuum; Platformisation of CoPS Supply Chains, which explores platform models for industry; and 3D-CIRCULAR, which addresses the challenge of developing digital and circular skills for sustainable growth.

The edition concludes with coverage of the inauguration of the Marco Garetti Lab, an advanced new research space focusing on Industry 4.0 and human–technology interaction, as well as some of the School’s notable achievements, including its performance in international rankings, the recognition of numerous professors as among the world’s most cited researchers, and the launch of the Master’s programme in African Innovation Leadership.
