Tommaso Agasisti, a professor at the POLIMI School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, has been appointed co-editor of Education Finance and Policy (EFP), a leading international academic journal dedicated to financing, policy and management issues in education.

Tommaso Agasisti is a professor of Public Management on the Master of Science in Management Engineering programme and of Business Economics and Organisation on the Bachelor’s degree programme in Production Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano. Since 2024, he has been Deputy Dean for Institutions and Public Administration (IPA) at the POLIMI Graduate School of Management. His research focuses on the economics and management of public administration, particularly in the education sector, from schools to universities, and in local government. He has published over 140 articles in international academic journals, as well as numerous other articles, book chapters and books, both nationally and internationally.

Agasisti has joined the new editorial team of Education Finance and Policy, alongside Gema Zamarro, a faculty member at the Department of Education Reform at the University of Arkansas, and Michael Kofoed, an associate professor of economics at the University of Tennessee.

Taking on the role of co-editor of Education Finance and Policy is an opportunity for me to serve a community of scholars whose research strives to improve education systems around the world. The journal acts as a bridge between research and policymaking, showing how high-quality academic research can inform policy and management decisions in the education sector. It also establishes the Politecnico di Milano as a key player in the international academic and institutional debate” commented Tommaso Agasisti.

Published as a key reference for academics and policymakers, Education Finance and Policy features research articles of significant relevance to public policy in the field of education. Distinguished by its interdisciplinary approach, the journal integrates economics, political science, public administration, law, and education studies to address topics ranging from early childhood to higher education in the United States and internationally. It publishes research articles and policy briefs.
