Abstract:
Digitalization is taking the world by storm. Besides the consumer markets, digitalization is currently also transforming many industries when it comes to manufacturing, operations and supply chain management, and many organizations search for new ways of doing business based on digitalization. The construction industry is however one of the least digitalized industries, and the purpose of this presentation is to describe a large research project focusing on the digitalization of the construction industry. The research project is based on a set of testbeds for trying out digital innovations in a real construction environments and involves both construction and technology based companies, hence acting as a melting pot for providing good examples of digital transformation in the construction industry. The presentation will give an overview of the project, provide examples of the testbeds that are currently running, and summarize the learnings gained and challenges faced so far.
