MIP and Politecnico di Milano have agreements with a number of providers, to meet the needs of students, from the moment of their arrival in Milan to the end of their stay.

Here you find a list of services and facilities you will have access to, as a MIP student.


Autoservizi Locatelli is a taxi service that offers private transportation from-to Lombardy’s international airports: Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio.


Option 1: transfer for 1-8 passengers (multiple stops within 15km are allowed with no extra charge)
€ 120 from/to Orio Al Serio and Malpensa Milano
€ 100 from/to Linate

Option 2: transfer for 1-2 passengers
€ 100 from/to Orio Al Serio and Malpensa Milano
€ 80 from/to Linate

How to book

  • Write to noleggio@autoservizilocatelli.it or info@autoservizilocatelli.it 4-5 days before your arrival, to book your ride
  • In the e-mail, include the following details: surname, name, arrival date, flight number, mobile number, school (MIP student)
  • Receive confirmation of your booking and the details of the driver who will welcome you at the Arrivals area
  • Pay on the stop with credit card or cash (notify the provider earlier if you intend to pay with credit card)
  • If you need to cancel your booking, communicate it 24h in advance

Please note:

  • Listed prices refer to transfer towards the city of Milan. If your accommodation is outside of Milan, prices may vary
  • No extra charge is requested in case of delays (the provider will monitor the status of the flights)
  • Generally, a maximum of 3 luggages is accepted per person. If you have more than one, it is best to mention it during your booking.


Casaforte is a rental service for temporary spaces for the storage of furniture and other personal belongings.

Casaforte’s “Students’ self-service storage” is a service designed specifically for the space needs of MIP students on the go, to store personal objects during removals and transfers, and to handle any needs for space while away from home.

The Politecnico di Milano Library Services comprise online resources and several libraries located in the different campuses. Exchange students can obtain access by requesting a temporary card.

Visit the Politecnico Library Services site: here you can contact the Ask@your library for specific information on services and the use of resources.

  • To enter libraries equipped with turnstiles you must carry your student card
  • Reserve online and take out materials at loans desk or at the automatic loan stations. You can loan up to 5 books at one time
  • Automatic loan stations near MIP can be found at the Durando Campus Library
  • To take material out at the loan desks you must show your ID. The loan is personal and must be carried out in first person.
  • Bovisa Engineering Library
    Via Lambruschini, 4 (Building BL27)
    The library is open from Monday to Sunday 8:00 am to 9:00 pm
  • Durando Campus Library
    Via Durando, 10 (Bovisa Durando Campus, Building B9, driveway from 72, Candiani Street)


Students sport activities are organized by Polimi Sport. View their activities at the Polimi Sport site.

Also, a gym close to our campus offers memberships at competitive prices to exchange students. Learn more at www.youcanfitnessfactory.it.


The canteen at our campus, mensa, is located at 34, Via La Masa, Building 24. If functions as a café, self-service restaurant and pizzeria. Outside lunch hours, it can be used as study area.
Opening hours: 8:00 am to 4.30 pm.


You will have access to MIP areas and building, and its canteen. The latter can be used as study areas outside lunch hours. It is open from 08:30 to 16:30.

You will benefit from a free Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus package for your computer, tablet or phone. You can access your Office 365 account through your MIP e-mail address.


PoliTamTam is the Politecnico di Milano’s students web-based newsletter. It contains information on current events, students initiatives, cultural activities, sport activities, opportunities and benefits. By subscribing, you will receive news and updates about the available services.


The Politecnico MOOCs Portal offers an Italian language and culture course at beginner level in two modules.

These are:

  • Benvenuti in Italia – Orientarsi con l’ItalianoPart 1
  • Benvenuti in Italia – Orientarsi con l’ItalianoPart 2

Click on the link on Part 1 and 2 to read full details. The course entails videos, grammar, exercises, a forum and much more, and the estimated student’s effort is 8 to10 hours per week, 8 to 10 weeks totally. You can read full information at the links. You will be able to access the course with your Politecnico credentials, or by creating new ones.

For more options, Comune di Milano has a portal where you can find all Italian classes schools in the metropolitan area. These include private schools, ngso and municipality classes: https://milano.italianostranieri.org/.


Discounts and special offers are available on admission tickets to some shows of the Milan theatres.


Amazon has installed two Amazon Lockers. These new kiosks, located inside the two campuses, will allow you to receive your Amazon packages at any time of the day in safety and convenience.

Amazon Locker Eliana

Situated in Bovisa Campus, in Via Lambruschini 4 (between the buildings BL26 and BL25). Here you are going to be able to pick up your packages every day, from Monday to Sunday, twenty-four hours a day.

How to use it:

  1. Click on the link Amazon Locker Eliana. Add it to your Amazon address book and select the Locker as your shipping destination for your purchase on Amazon.it
  2. As soon as your package has been delivered you will receive an email with a unique code and a barcode
  3. Visit the selected Locker and enter your unique code or scan your barcode, then remove your package after the Locker’s door opens


You can benefit from discounts on subscriptions for several shared mobility services. You will need to use your Politecnico e-mail account (@polimi.it) when registering.

BikeMi is Milan’s new Bike Sharing service, a two-wheel public transportation system for short journeys. It is available 365 days a year, from 7 am to 1 am. The pricing depends on the type of bicycle you choose.

The first 30 minutes on a traditional bicycle are free, with additional minutes charged at the rates advertised. BikeMi offers you an annual subscription to the service for €29 instead of the standard charge of €36.

How to subscribe

With Enjoy you can travel through the city easily and quickly, entering, with some restrictions, in limited traffic zones (ZTLs) and parking your vehicle free of charge on blue paid parking spaces. Find your nearest vehicle by checking the map, book it, keep it as long as you want and pay only for how much you use it.

By signing up to Enjoy, you will automatically receive a 2 eurocent/min discount compere a standard price of 25 eurocent/min.

Flixbus is a bus sharing operator that offers the possibility to travel through Europe in total comfort, safety and sustainability. You can request 2 discount codes per month worth 10% valid to travel on buses throughout the national and international Flixbus network.

How it works


PENNYMarket is one of the Italian leaders among the discount supermarkets. You can enjoy the application of an additional discount of 5% on all the shopping expenses incurred.

To activate the offer, you will have to present to PENNYMarket a document certifying your membership in the university.
