Transitions to sustainable food systems require many changes. Integrated solutions are needed to respond to multiple challenges. Urbanization plays an important role in this transition, as cities consume 70% of all food while contributing to greenhouse gases, food waste, and environmental degradation.
This event aims at sharing success stories on how cities, subnational and national governments can join forces to deliver interconnected solutions for a healthy diet, food losses, waste, and resilience against shocks and stresses. It will also be an opportunity to promote innovative, multi stakeholder and multi-level food systems governance.
The event is part of the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment.
