Abstract:
The Industrie 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing principles rely on digital thread and real-time data communication to manage the whole product lifecycle and on integration of several technologies to improve the efficiency of engineering, manufacturing, assembly, usage, operating, maintenance or disposal processes. Based on advanced information technology and the reuse of capitalized knowledge, it will be possible to enable the reengineering of global value chains, to develop disrupting business and industrial models, to increase agility of production engineering and manufacturing operations. In such a context, many opportunities for manufacturing processes engineering and management exist, particularly for improvement of production operations where benefit of the digital transformation is emerging quickly. The research issues linked with Cyber-Physical Production Systems, Industrial Internet of Things, Digital Transformation, Virtual Engineering and Prototyping, CAD/CAM/CAPP, PLM/SLM, Intelligent Production Management, Manufacturing Data Analytics will also be discussed in this talk.
