Having graduated with honours in Information Technology in 1986, he worked for many years as an Artificial Intelligence Researcher at Enel, also holding the AI course at Brescia University. In 1999 he joined Sorgenia during the energy company’s start-up phase and helped it grow to reach a €2bn turnover and 500,000 customers. Here, he held the role of Group CIO until 2009 and then founded and managed the Distributed Generation Business Unit. Since 2014 he has been working as a Partner at Reply, a leading ICT Consulting Company, and subsequently as Strategy and Technology Advisor for various energy and utilities companies. In 2020 he co-founded SETA, a company focused on live and e-learning Cybersecurity Education, which he is currently leading as CEO.

Having worked as an independent researcher in the IT Security field since 1996, he has specific expertise in internetworking protocols, AAA systems and software vulnerabilities; he is the author of various white papers and vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security enforcement tools, which are widely recognised and used by the community. He has worked as a speaker and coach, both as an independent researcher for community events and on behalf of private companies. He is co-founder of Enforcer, where he is responsible for the Assessment and R&D operations. He has written countless articles regarding UNIX and Linux security for various Italian magazines and e-zines.
