MIP Graduate School of Business

MIP Politecnico di Milano has been recognised as a prestigious business school for more than 40 years, attracting graduates interested in a managerial career in business or in public administration, together with companies wishing to enhance their organisation and strategies.
Created in 1979 as “Master in Ingegneria della Produzione” (Master in Production Engineering), and transformed in 1986 in a Consortium between Politecnico di Milano and many Italian institutions and several leading public and private industrial groups – mostly large multinational corporations – today, MIP is a non-for-profit Consortium Limited Company.
For this reason, MIP is able to integrate distinctive academic know-how with practical professional experience derived from the world of business and consultancy.
By working directly with companies, we can truly understand and work within the real world, developing educational programmes and services in line with corporate needs.
MIP, together with the Department of Management Engineering, is part of the Politecnico di Milano School of Management, whose mission is to impact on society by creating and sharing knowledge at the intersection between engineering, management and economics.
We’re proud to be part of the ecosystem of Politecnico di Milano, a leading university which ranked 16th in the World, 6th in Europe, and 1st in Italy, according to QS World University Ranking by Subject – Engineering & Technology 2019.

Since the foundation of MIP, the economic and technological scenario has quite transformed. Our School has been able to transform those major changes into opportunities.
In 1979 – year of establishment of the School – it was difficult to completely imagine the impact that new technologies would have on education. Nonetheless, MIP has benefited from innovation and in 2014 – with the launch of Flex EMBA, the first Executive MBA digitally delivered in Italy – it became a pioneer in the field.
Moreover, recently, MIP presented FLEXA – an innovative continuous learning platform powered by AI – in partnership with Microsoft.
Yet, MIP’s success does not only originates from technological innovation, but it comes also from people. Today, our staff includes more than 150 professionals from 11 countries; our Alumni community counts more than 9000 members; and about 3000 students entered at MIP this year. Not to mention the thousands of participants attending the custom courses organized for our 102 business customers.

MIP offers over 25 Master programs every year, including outstanding MBA and Executive MBA programs, plus a catalogue of more than 200 Open Executive programmes for managers covering numerous topics.
Subjects range across the entire educational spectrum, from general management to specific topics, including, amongst others, entrepreneurship, design driven innovation, sustainable supply chain management, marketing 2.0 and new media, ICT and digital transformation, project management and industry 4.0.

Since first joining the Financial Times’ rankings of best European Business Schools in 2009, today the School is in the list with Executive MBA, Full-Time MBA, Master of Science in Management Engineering, Customised Executive programmes for business and Open Executive programmes for managers and professionals.
MBA is also accredited by AMBA and the EMBA digital learning courses were the first to receive endorsement in Italy from EOCCS (EFMD Online Course Certification) for their quality.

One of the pillars of our School is internationalization. Being part of MIP means getting in touch with a wide network of business schools, visiting professors and students coming from all around the world.
In our classes, more than 20 different countries are represented!
Such an international experience that does not finish on Graduation Day: our Alumni Community counts more than 9,000 members, living in all four corners of the world

Companies play a key role at MIP. Among our shareholders, there are 22 top companies, while others collaborate with MIP in the framework of Masters and MBA programs.
Thanks to this link to the business community, company presentations, in-company lessons, networking events and career days are part of the daily life of our students.
Working and studying at MIP represent a great way to develop your network to and to benefit from a balanced mix between academic knowledge and real world experience.

Digital Innovation is a central theme at MIP. Since the launch of the first Executive MBA in digital learning in 2014, our engagement in innovating education through digital has skyrocketed. Today, digital learning is blended in 30% of our programs!
Moreover, our MBA and Executive MBA programs  have been updated to put a greater emphasis on topics such as  digital innovation and digital transformation, but the School also launched the Executive Program in Digital Transformation FLEX , a digitally delivered program aiming at giving to professionals, managers and entrepreneurs the tool-box to spread Digital Transformation in their business.
