MIP Graduate School of Business

We are the Business School of the Politecnico di Milano, one of the best scientific and technological universities in the world. For more than 40 years, MIP has been engaged in providing management training programmes for graduates, professionals, companies, institutions and public administrations.

Our name stands for Master in Ingegneria della Produzione ̶ Master in Production Engineering: initially founded in 1979, a consortium was formed seven years later between the Politecnico di Milano and a number of important Italian institutions and companies and today, MIP is a non-profit consortium company with share capital.

We are part of the School of Management of the Politecnico di Milano, which combines academic research and university education carried out by the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering (Dipartimento di Management, Economia e Ingegneria Industriale – DIG), with postgraduate and post-experience education developed by MIP.

We work every day to maximise our positive impact on society, exploiting and spreading the power of digital innovation, relationships and multiculturalism: all our training projects are built on these four pillars.

We work by actively seeking to maximise our positive impact on society, and not just through training. For this reason, we are the only Business School in Europe among B Corp certified companies, a recognition given to enterprises which are characterised by their commitment to sustainable development and to building a more inclusive society.

We were the first in Italy to launch an Executive MBA in digital learning in 2014, and it was from that moment that our commitment to innovation took off: today, digital learning is included in virtually all of our programmes. This commitment has enabled us to scale the world’s top rankings, seeing us placed 6th in the QS Online MBA Rankings 2021 and 8th in the FT Online MBA Ranking 2021. Among our many innovative projects, FLEXA stands out, the continuous learning platform for students, alumni and professionals which leverages artificial intelligence and which was developed in partnership with Microsoft.

We forge lasting and fruitful relationships with nationally and internationally renowned companies, associates and partners with whom we design training courses aimed at providing the tools needed to meet the challenges of today’s markets. This extensive network also allows us to enrich our Master’s degrees and courses with company presentations, in-company lessons and networking events with professionals. We are based in Milan, Italy’s main business centre, but we also enjoy European and other international partnerships with numerous successful Business Schools.

Internationalisation is one of MIP’s distinguishing features. Being part of our business school means connecting with a wide network of educational institutions, companies, visiting professors and students from all over the world. Over 70 different nationalities are represented in our classrooms and offices.

Over the years, our school has been increasingly recognised for the excellence of its programmes: since we were first included among the best European Business Schools by the Financial Times Rankings in 2009, today our programmes feature in all the major global rankings, including QS, Bloomberg Business Week, America Economy, Expansion, EdUniversal and CEOMagazine. In particular, our Executive MBA in Digital Learning ranks 6th in the world in the QS Online MBA Rankings 2021 and 8th in the world in the FT Online MBA Ranking 2021.

We are the first Italian educational institution to have received EOCCS-EFMD Online Course Certification accreditation for digital learning courses.

We are part of the 1% of the top business schools accredited by the EQUIS-EFMD Quality Improvement System, one of the most important international quality assessment and continuous improvement systems of Schools of Management and Business Administration. Our MBA and EMBA programs have long since achieved the quality standards of excellence, as defined by AMBAthe Association of MBAs, which accredits less than 5% of business schools worldwide.

In 2021 we achieved international AACSB certification, synonymous with the highest standards of excellence in Business Education. With this milestone, following the EQUIS and AMBA certifications, we have officially attained the “triple crown“, the three most prestigious accreditations which, as of today, have been awarded to just over 100 business schools around the world.

We are accredited by ASFOR, an Italian body that has certified the best of management programmes since 1971.

We offer more than 40 Masters each year, including MBAs and Executive MBAs, a catalogue of more than 200 Open programmes for executive profiles and various customised training courses for companies, covering a variety of topics: from general management to more specific subjects such as entrepreneurship, design-driven innovation, sustainable supply chain management, marketing 2.0 and new media, ICT and digital transformation, project management and industry 4.0.

Above all, our school is made up of people: for all the objectives and activities that distinguish us, we avail ourselves of a faculty made up of teachers from the Politecnico di Milano and managers from the business world, and a staff of professionals who plan, promote and coordinate the various educational services with great passion.

We also have more than 15,000 alumni and about 3,000 students every year, with thousands more participating in our numerous customised courses for corporate clients.

We believe in the power of relationships as a constant source of enrichment, both personal and professional. We are ceaselessly working to make it easier for members of our community to share experiences, by supporting and organising a variety of networking opportunities.
