The workshop “Finance and the ‘Real’ Economy” brings together scholars, professionals and policy-makers to celebrate the intellectual legacy of Francesco Brioschi and, through an interdisciplinary lens, to explore the relationship between finance and society’s concrete development. Open to the public, the two-day event invites dialogue where academia meets business, institutions and market practitioners to chart new paths of shared value.
Three guiding threads will shape the debate:
- Governance, ownership and the institutions of capitalism: analysing corporate control structures and their implications for the real economy.
- Corporate finance: evolving financial strategies that steer the ongoing transition while balancing competitiveness with long-term vision.
- Entrepreneurial finance: from digital platforms to venture capital, new funding channels that support the growth and scalability of entrepreneurial initiatives.
Featuring high-profile keynotes, thematic sessions and networking moments, the workshop aims not only to honour Professor Brioschi’s memory but also to advance his vision of finance in the service of the “real” economy.
