What does it mean to Think International?
The first step has to be a change in mindset, which we aim to bring about by giving students the chance to know and understand the intrinsic, long-term value of an international experience before they have to take the actual step of choosing among the many opportunities offered by the University.
It is never too soon to start thinking about it. And this is why these events have been organized by the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering for all Bachelor and Master of Science students, in collaboration with professors, students, alumni, and international partners: to help students think strategically with their mind open to the rest of the world, with curiosity and without any kind of prejudice.

Jenna Stephens, Assistant Director, International Programs, University of Illinois at Chicago
Prof. Roberto Cigolini, Coordinator of the UIC Double Degree Program for the Department of Management, Economics and Industrial Engineering, Politecnico di Milano
The closing event of this year’s Think International Series will be focused on the double degree program with the University of Illinois at Chicago. This program has been running successfully for twenty years, but only recently opened to Management Engineering. While not included in the Polimi mobility call, it offers an uncommon, certainly challenging, but nevertheless enriching opportunity to live an experience abroad, while also earning a second degree.
Learn more about it, from the UIC Faculty and Staff, but also from Polimi students enrolled in the program!
Polimi Professor Roberto Cigolini, Program Coordinator for Management Engineering, will be moderating the event and discussing the highlights of the program with UIC representatives, while also providing important information on how to combine it with your study path at Polimi.
Additionally, Polimi Management Engineering students who have taken part in the program will also be sharing what they gained from this unique experience, adding a perspective that is essential to understanding the overall meaning of embarking in this journey.
As for all other Think International events, questions will be welcome. So please join and don’t be afraid to ask!
Below is the recording of the event.
