Abstract:
The Web-based platforms revolutionize many domains of human life, like social and political communication, finance, retail etc. Starting from the reflection on cutting-edge research and practice from China and Japan the seminar will address those scientific challenges that concern the rise of technology-driven ecosystemic capabilities, like: emergent intelligence, ecosystemic adaptiveness and panarchical governance.
An intensive research goes on in China and Japan on symbiotic solutions for harmonizing society, economy, individuals and nature. In parallel states and business promote Web-platforms that aim to boost progress through facilitated responsible behavior, learning and adaptiveness.
A spectacular example is the Chinese Social Credit System, which applies Big Data to assess credibility of organizations and individuals, this way pushing towards improved social and economic performance, while the ultimate objective is better and more competitive society, economy and state.
The research and foresighted development suggests emergence of potential for panarchical governance, ecosystemic intelligence, overall symbiosis, and enhanced evolutionary capabilities. Illustration is given by a variety of examples: some new business models, particular Web-based platforms for business and social ecosystems, some bottom-up political initiatives. The new capacities go beyond the traditional paradigms like systems and systems of systems, but rather rely on the ecosystemic perspective.
