THE MASTER FOR GLOBAL LEADERS IN THE DIGITAL ERA

Internationalisation is one of the most effective strategies to expand a firm. However, internationalisation entails not only opportunities – in terms of, e.g., sales and productivity growth – but also challenges – in terms of, e.g., market choice, entry mode strategy, financial support, business planning, coordination of the foreign units, management of the human resources and of cultural and institutional diversity. Digital transformation can help firms to face these challenges, since technologies provide both a direct and an indirect support to internationalisation.
The International Master in International Business and Digital Transformation is a unique pathway for managers who are willing to upgrade their theoretical and practical knowledge of international business and digital technologies, becoming the innovators and digital transformers that companies need. Indeed, this programme will provide students with all the skills required to help their company in designing and managing successful international growth by leveraging digital technologies, thus giving birth to a Digital Multinational Enterprise (DMNE).

THE MASTER FOR THE DIGITAL LEADERS OF TOMORROW

Major of the International Master in Digital Transformation

Digital technologies and innovations are transforming processes, operations, business models and entire organisations: their impact is often so pervasive and radical that it leads to a cross-industry “Digital Disruption”. This master will provide participants with the strategic, entrepreneurial and organisational approaches, methods and tailored “tool-box” to navigate across the main digital trends (e.g. Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Blockchain, Big Data & Analytics, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, eCommerce, Mobile & Omnichannel Communication, Digital Manufacturing & Industry 4.0) and lead Digital Innovation in both public and private organisations.

IMCyM – International Master in Cybersecurity Management

DigitalExperience-1

THE MASTER FOR THE CYBERSECURITY SPECIALISTS OF TOMORROW

Major of the International Master in Digital Transformation

Cybersecurity is becoming more and more relevant in all organisations, due to ever- growing digitalisation of activities in a globally hyper-connected world.
The diffusion of ICT has dramatically increased the risks of a loss of confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, with potential huge financial impacts (and sometimes putting the survival of organisations themselves at risk). Also, Covid-19 (and the consequent lockdown, which imposed a massive use of home/smartworking) clearly showed that business organisations, public administration and end users are often unaware of risks (or, anyway, unable to manage them properly). Indeed, the number of cases of hacking and fraud during the Covid-19 emergency increased dramatically. Hence, companies understood that they need to strengthen this area by acquiring new competences and skills to protect their business from cyber risk. The Master will prepare students for a leadership role that strengthens organisations by understanding cybersecurity risks, the possible impacts on business and possible countermeasures, with important insights into governance, compliance, and regulatory issues. Through experiential learning, case study analysis, and the illustration of leading security technologies taught by expert faculty members, students will develop key management skills for realising a corporate cybersecurity plan.

*In order to fully participate in classes and company visits, presence on campus is strongly suggested, especially since January 2023. In case of visa delays, travel barriers or other specific issues, it will be possible to continue attending online.

    • Shortage of skills and competences relating to cybersecurity: a key competence for both consultancy and corporate firms, as the market is requiring the competence of knowing the technology and using it in a managerial and innovative way: a survey highlighted the fact that around one fifth of public sector organisations have a problem of skills gaps in cybersecurity, covered in 85% of cases through external competences;

The project provides for the collaboration and supervision of a MIP Faculty member, a Politecnico di Milano professor or an outside consultant. In this way, the company can benefit from the output of the project, which is in essence strongly practical and consultancy-based; it also activates the know-how of the various Politecnico di Milano departments.

Financial opportunities
  • The course is recognized by a public body - in this specific case by the Politecnico di Milano. Therefore, the fee of the master is VAT exempted pursuant to art. 10 DPR 633/1972.
  • A specific schedule of rates is applied, by means of which the cost is distributed based on the duration of the Master; we are, however, happy to take into account the needs of the company in this regard.
  • Businesses which participate in Interprofessional Funds, such as Fondimpresa and Fondirigenti, can benefit from opportunities for sponsoring their employees to take an Executive MBA, taking advantage of the funds which have accrued in their Learning Account or by using open tenders. Here, MIP works with all joint multi-sector funds by placing a team of experts at the disposal of companies to draw attention to the various funding opportunities.

Two pillars have in fact been dedicated to innovation and transformation, with the introduction of new courses in Design Thinking, Omni-Channel Marketing and Lean Startup. In the 4th Pillar, each student will be able to customise their own EMBA route, choosing between 2 Learning Paths with either an entrepreneurial or a managerial focus.

BENEFITS FOR THE COMPANY

Expand the international business network

IMM Global EMBA students have many opportunities to form ties with their classmates – a talent pool of professionals from around the world and from an array of backgrounds -, the alumni network and faculty of the different schools, and the international companies that they will meet during the program. They will also get insights from different cultures, companies, entrepreneurs and business contexts.  Thanks to the International Master in Management, candidates can reach out to this network and have the chance to gain contacts in areas that may before have been unexplored or inaccessible in order to solve future business challenges.

Increase the company knowledge and gain competitive leadership skills

IMM is ideal for companies that intend to develop their high potential executive employees and managers, as they can benefit from bringing their management skills up to date on the latest trends in management practice and in line with their company’s culture, values and strategy.
IMM students start to use skills and knowledge while in program and the additional advantage of working while studying is that students can transfer the skills they learn on the course back to the workplace instantaneously. Students can engage in new ways to drive their teams to work coherently and effectively together and have a greater impact in the company business resulting in higher revenue, lower costs, increased efficiencies, better decision making and much more.  They can then discuss the results of their endeavours to classmates and critically discuss their leadership progress with their lecturers and cohort.

Work on Employee Retention

Invest in the training of the employees, enhance the resources, improve the company business with top-notch talents and develop the employee retention.

Maximize the Return on Investment and Save cost

The expertise Global EMBA students gain is immediately applicable in their companies and organizations. Participants become smart decision makers, effective problem solvers, and well-prepared leaders able to take on increasing responsibilities. Over 50% of IMM alumni have saved their companies $12 million annually (Purdue survey). Companies can make considerable savings in the costs they would incur in obtaining external expertise either from consultants or by employing suitably qualified managers through the job market.

Develop a virtuous circle of education

Companies can benefit of further fees reduction of additional MIP Politecnico di Milano managerial courses (such as courses included in the MIP Management Academy) to implement a widespread training program for their employees, thus developing a virtuous circle of education.
